The National Weather Service (NWS) Environmental Modeling Center and Meteorological Development Lab are transitioning to the new NWS Office of Modeling and Development (OMD). OMD serves as the catalyst for advancing operational Earth system modeling capabilities and forecast guidance applications foundational to the NWS and NOAA missions. Our role is to deliver a world-class suite of coupled Earth system models, guidance products, visualization, and applications that provide foundational capabilities needed to drive probabilistic forecasting and Impact-based Decision Support Services (IDSS) through collaborative development and leveraging advanced science and technology.
