AGRMET - AFWA's Global Land Data Aassimilation System

Abstract:
An overview of AFWA's global land data assimilation system, known as AGRMET, is
presented. As an uncoupled system, it generates analyses of radiation, precipitation and
shelter height fields as inputs to its soil hydrology physics. The creation of these analysis
fields will be examined. Current projects, including model comparisons against field
data, will also be presented. Finally, future plans for land data assimilation at AFWA
will be discussed.
