The intensity issue of hurricanes is addressed using the angular
momentum budget of a hurricane in storm relative cylindrical
coordinates, a scale interaction approach, and interactions. These
are the diagnostic tools applied to the data sets derived from a very
high resolution mesoscale model. This study focuses on application of
such mesoscale models to understand the hurricane intensity and its
changes during the life cycle of a hurricane, with an aim to provide
means to improve the modeling and forecast issues.
