In August, I'll be part of the next graduating class of the NWS Eastern
Region Leadership Development Program (ERLDP). Eastern Region opened up
this program to federal employees of NCEP in 2016, and I'll be the
first EMC graduate in the program. To fulfill a requirement, I will be
presenting a short seminar at noon on May 15 in room 2155 discussing
"The Power of Emotional Intelligence and Other Epiphanies from the
Eastern Region Leadership Development Program."
I'll cover some important takeaways from the program and introduce you
to concept of emotional intelligence and how understanding it can
benefit your career and even your interactions outside of work. I'll
also focus on the 4 primary areas of the program: communication,
leadership, teams, and people and relationships. The program will
accept new candidates this fall, and I'll end with an overview of the
program and answer questions. While the program is only open to federal
employees, the takeaways I plan to present are relevant to everyone.
