[prob description] (left panel, operational technique) Neighborhood maximum probabilities: this technique looks for any occurrence of a member exceeding the threshold within a fixed radius (40 km for QPF, 15 km for snow). For 0.01 inch and 0.25 inch QPF probs, the left panel is a pure point probability.
(right panel, experimental technique) Ensemble Agreement Scale (EAS) probabilities: this technique calculates grid-point probabilities by varying the radius of influence at each grid point according to member-member similarity criteria, which provides an estimate of spatial agreement among ensemble members at each grid point. Is a refined version of fractional coverage probabilities which used a fixed radius.
