Precipitation RTMA

Description

Hourly ConUS precipitation analysis on the 2.5km NDFD grid, produced in near real time.

In v2.8 implementation

Schduled for late June/early July 2020, pcpRTMA is made at 15 minutes past the top of the hour, from the radar-only MRMS QPE.

In v2.7 and earlier

pcpRTMA was made at 33 minutes past the top of the hour, from the first-run Stage IV analysis (from RFC QPEs available at hh:33), supplemented by the first-run Stage II analysis. The first-run Stage II used radar DPA and METAR gauge info received at NCEP. METAR gauges are received at ~hh:30, hence the hh:33 processing time for pcpRTMA.
