Several runs of the MRF (and other medium-range forecasting models as well) indicated that a significant east coast storm was possible on Wednesday. The 132-hour forecast from the run on the 21st was of particular concern. Medium-range forecasters gave alert about the threat of a Wednesday storm, so some emergency management officers along the east coast were actually somewhat prepared for the Tuesday storm because they were bracing for a possible event a day later.
