The Eta-32 is being used to test the impact of new TOVS/GOES radiance processing in the Eta 3DVAR analysis and modifications to the cloud microphysics and precipitation assimilation
OBSERVATIONAL AND ANALYSIS CHANGES
  • The Eta 3DVAR analysis in this test was modified to use the new TOVS/GOES radiance processing currently running the NCEP Global SSI analysis.
    ETA MODEL / EDAS CHANGES
  • The EDAS precipitation assimilation scheme in this test was modified so that the adjusted convective precipitation rates are passed to radiation scheme.
