These are NGM forecasts from the 12Z cycle on 1/24/00. The first plot compares the NGM forecast of sea level pressure (green) to the Eta (red); the NGM is further east and much weaker than the Eta.
The next 2 plots compare the NGM 24-hour precipitation total valid at 36 hours to the Eta prediction for the same time period. As expected, since the NGM was weaker and further east, less precipitation is forecast for the mid-Atlantic region.
