For 2009, we increased the total number of ensemble members that are used to calculate the impact of targeted observations from 131 to 177. This includes 51 members from ECMWF, 84 members from NCEP and 42 member from CMC. The G-IV is now based in Japan for the first part (Jan to Feb 28, 2009). Starting from March 1, 2009, G-IV will be stationed in Hawaii until the end of March. The following listed some samples of the results. Notice the new additions to provide targeting guidance to the Russia Radiosondes network.
