IP, LANDSFCUTIL and BUFR libraries will be upgraded on Tuesday, May 3

(pending CCB approval). These library upgrades are currently available in

test and will be available on both IBM and Cray systems. See below for

usage and changes being made for each.

 

For use until May 3:

IBM:

   module use /nwtest2/lib/modulefiles

   module load bufr/v11.1.0

   module load ip/v3.0.0

   module load landsfcutil/v2.1.0

Cray:

   module use /gpfs/nco/ops/nwtest/lib/modulefiles

   module load bufr/v11.1.0

   module load ip/v3.0.0

   module load landsfcutil/v2.1.0

 

 

On May 3, these libraries will be moved to the production environment so

module use will not be necessary. They WILL NOT be the default versions on

either system!

IPLIB changes for v3.0.0:

 

   - The gdswiz routines were eliminated and their function merged into the

   gdswzd routines.

   - The gdswzd routines were converted to Fortran modules.  The vector

   rotation sines/cosines, map jacobians and grid box area variables are now

   optional array arguments.

   - The following obsolete routines were eliminated: gcdist, gdsawt,

   ijkgds, ipmerge2, ipsector, ipspaste, polateg0, polateg1, polateg4.

 

LANDSFCUTIL changes for v2.1.0:

- Removal of obsolete routines: interp_utils_nesdis, ll2xy_gaussian_1d,

ll2xy_gaussian, write_sfc_file, write_sfc_fileice, read_sfccycle_fmt,

read_sfccycle_fmtice.

 

BUFR changes:

 

- Fix a bug by ensuring that internal arrays are properly flushed even when

overlarge subsets are unable to be written to an output stream.

- Fix a bug involving the encoding of long character strings into

compressed messages which also contain delayed replication sequences
